RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PURSUIT OF FUNDING FOR THE CITY OF LAVONIA WASTEWATER EXPANSION PROJECT

WHEREAS, the City of Lavonia continues to work on the expansion of its wastewater facilities; and,

WHEREAS, it is estimated that the cost of the wastewater expansion project is one million five hundred thousand ($1,500,000.00) dollars; and,

WHEREAS, the City of Lavonia has secured five hundred thousand ($500,000.00) dollars to be utilized for the wastewater expansion,

THEREFORE, the City Council hereby resolves:

1.

The Mayor and City Manager of the City of Lavonia are authorized to pursue additional funding for the expansion of the wastewater system of the City of Lavonia through governmental and other agencies, to include the United States Department of Agriculture, the Georgia Environmental Facilities Authority, the Georgia Department of Community Affairs Community Development Block Grant Program and any other viable source of funding.
