Development of the Lavonia Cultural Center

The Better Hometown Program, in conjunction with the City of Lavonia and the Lavonia Downtown Development Authority, is moving ahead with the transformation of the old armory building into the Lavonia Cultural Center. Several milestones have already been accomplished, including:

• Incorporation of "A Greater Lavonia Community, Inc.' a 501c3 non-profit corporation that will manage the Lavonia Cultural Center.

• Paving of the parking lots and a turn around in the back of the building.

• Preliminary drawings for the update of the inside and outside of the building.

• Submission of applications for various grants.

• Hiring of Carolyn Hall Willbanks as Executive Director to promote and handle rental of the Center
