| History | |
For 54 years Lavonia Garden Club members have been fulfilling their purpose which is to “promote the love of gardening among amateurs; to study and protect native trees and birds, and to encourage and develop civic beauty.” The club was organized April 25, 1950, by Mrs. E.O. Cronheim of the Rose Garden Club of Atlanta. |

| Purpose | |
Today members plant and maintain the perennial gardens, memorial garden, and container gardens on the grounds of the Lavonia Depot. Also, members have adopted floral containers in the downtown Gazebo district, and assist with Lavonia in Bloom, City Cemetery, and Festival of Trees projects. Additionally, members provide gardening books and magazines to the Lavonia Carnegie Library. The annual Garden Club Flower show is held in April and members sell plants and other gardening items at fall and spring festivals held in Lavonia. |
